Holiday Inspiration

I have been loving seeing the holiday decorations and beautiful holiday vignette photos. 
Below are just some I found on Better Homes and Gardens. 
I am inspired to find some vintage looking ornaments and fun glass candlesticks.

Holiday season is here.  I hope yours is great and you have time to step back and enjoy it. Between house guests for Thanksgiving, a second birthday party, and now Christmas I have been trying to keep afloat this holiday.  I have lots to catch up on.

These made there way into a lot of my samples for the new Studio M Photography website.  Surprisingly I got some good shots.  McK was preoccupied with swatting flies after she got over being scared of them.  Thankfully Autumn has always been a time of good photos for me.

This is a picture of my dining room table set for Halloween. 

I can't wait to finish editing to the pumpkin patch photos.

I haven't participated in awhile, but this picture is too cute to resist.  I have been loving making the vintagey/aged or soft looking photos I have been creating of late.  I have my own pumpkin patch photos to take.  I am loving the fall so far and the beginning of the holiday season.

Meet Mikaela, she just turned 2 and is a ball of energy. 
We just did a quick mini session for her at her birthday party.
She is also actually a  very cooperative picture taker.

Fix- It Friday #69 I SD Photographer

I am finishing editing a friend's photos.  So I figured while I was at it, I should post my edit of of the contributor's photo this week at I Heart Faces.  I was going for a focus on the faces and a soft blur of everything else.

Jalisco's l Food Photography

We tried Jalisco's because of a friend's authentic mexcian food recommendation.  It won us over.  I tried the tamale.  Yum!  I also got the mole enchildada's.  They were good (although covered with too much sour cream for me), but I loved the soft and sweet corncake covered tender meat tamale better.  A got a pork dish that was not bland, but full of flavor and slightly too hot for my weak tongue.  *It's not pictured below.

Oranges

My baby loves to suck the juice from a orange, but leave the pulp and skin. 
Of course this makes for juice everywhere.

5 Years + 12 Roses = Happy Anniversary

I wanted to capture the roses fleeting beauty and try out my new spot filter and macro filters.  The spot filter didn't work out so well.  A rose would be in focus but the rest of them were blured, which was expected.  But the color would linger above the roses in a reddish haze - Not pretty.

These were the best shots.

Fix It Fridays #55 - I Heart Faces

This is my submission for this weeks photo editing assigment.
Each week I Heart Faces uses a user's submission to do a editing challenge.
I like to work with other people's photos so I can get a break from my own. 

This week they wanted to brighten up the photo and was worried about the background noise.

I brighten up the picture, muted the color in the background, cropped it a bit, and added some contrast.
