Lasting Lifetime Memories vs. the latest technology

Very pertinent these days.  What do you hold most valuable?

Here is an excerpt:
Custom photography may feel like an extravagance, but you may want to think twice about cutting corners with your family's memories. Okay, that may sound a tad dramatic…but seriously, photography is one of the few investments that will truly last a lifetime.

In this age of a new iPad every minute, there IS no getting ahead. That must-have tech gadget will be new for about…oops, never mind, it's already been replaced by a newer model. Your flat-screen TV may wind up on Craigslist in a year or two, but I can guarantee the 20x30 framed picture of your kids over your fireplace isn't going anywhere.

Spring What to Wear Guide

I took the last month off, but now back to business.  For the upcoming children/family photo shoots, I have picked out some possible clothing choices. These outfits would be perfect for sessions, they are cozy, colorful, and bright.

Any clothing choice should show your little ones personalities.  Family members outfits should be coordinated (think colors, styles, etc.) but not matching.  Choose items for the entire family as if you were creating one outfit.  If portraits are outdoors, it is important that children are dressed warmly.    Layering is a great way to keep children warm and fashionable.  Make sure sweaters or coats are clean and coordinate with the outfits.

Holiday Inspiration

I have been loving seeing the holiday decorations and beautiful holiday vignette photos.
Below are just some I found on Better Homes and Gardens.
I am inspired to find some vintage looking ornaments and fun glass candlesticks.

Holiday season is here.  I hope yours is great and you have time to step back and enjoy it. Between house guests for Thanksgiving, a second birthday party, and now Christmas I have been trying to keep afloat this holiday.  I have lots to catch up on.

These made there way into a lot of my samples for the new Studio M Photography website.  Surprisingly I got some good shots.  McK was preoccupied with swatting flies after she got over being scared of them.  Thankfully Autumn has always been a time of good photos for me.
